Weekend Guide: January 16-17
Updated: Jan 22, 2021
If you haven't heard... we have to stay home and after a year of various levels of lockdown, it's getting monotonous. Here is a list of things to try at home to get you out of the lockdown blues.
Let your creativity fly and grab an art project from a local art studio (Also great way to occupy the kids)
Take a virtual tour of the Louvre to get inspired
Have an International Dinner Night
As a family, pick out a country you would like to learn more about and are interested in. Find cuisine that is unique to that country. Order a dinner that would be served in that country. You get to try new food plus support local business
Have an Indoor/Outdoor Scavenger Hunt
Everyone loves hunting for hidden things. Type up a list of things that need to be found and give everyone a list. The things can be inside your home or even outdoors around the yard. Put a time limit on how long they have to locate the articles.
Be creative. You can even put some things in the form of clues, so everyone has to figure out what the object is. Have a small prize for the winner.
Tour ancient Rome
You may feel cut off from the rest of the world, but you can time travel.
Current technology means that you can explore other cities and even other times online, such as this virtual tour of ancient Rome which takes you through the forum, capitoline hill, and famous monuments.
Have a kitchen dance party
You can definitely have too much screen time. If workouts aren’t your thing or you just miss a good dance, put together a list of your favourite songs and dance around your kitchen. Don’t worry, nobody’s watching!
And as always continue to #staysafe and #wearamask
